Assembly Talent
New Role
Finance Manager
About this role
Why This Role Will Elevate Your Career
This is a rare opportunity to step into a true Finance Manager role within a fast-growing Australian design brand — where you will own the finance function end-to-end and work closely with the Founder on both day-to-day performance and long-term business strategy.
You won’t just be maintaining the numbers — you’ll be building structure, driving clarity, and helping shape the financial future of a business scaling across Australia and internationally.
Why You’ll Love Working With This Brand
This is a brand known for its considered design, loyal customer base, and strong momentum across both retail and trade channels.
As the business continues to grow, there is a real opportunity to bring rigour, forward planning, and commercial insight into a founder-led environment that values quality, pace, and long-term thinking.
- Work directly with an engaged and highly invested Founder
- Be part of a brand experiencing sustained, multi-market growth
- Hybrid working model with flexibility
- A role with real influence — not just execution
Your Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full finance function, including financial reporting, payroll, AP/AR and reconciliations
- Own month-end and year-end processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare BAS, compliance reporting, and statutory requirements
- Build and manage budgets, forecasts, and cashflow planning
- Develop clear, forward-looking financial reporting (including P&L and performance insights)
- Partner closely with the Founder on strategic decision-making
- Identify opportunities to improve systems, processes, and financial controls
- Work across key platforms including Xero, Shopify and Cin7
The Ideal Candidate
You are a qualified Accountant (CA or CPA) who enjoys operating in a hands-on, growing business environment where you can take ownership and build.
You bring both technical strength and commercial thinking — with the confidence to partner with leadership and guide decisions, not just report on them.
- CA or CPA qualified (essential)
- Proven experience in a Finance Manager or Senior Accountant role
- Strong end-to-end finance capability across reporting, compliance, and operations
- Experience in retail, eCommerce, or product-based businesses highly regarded
- Advanced Excel skills and strong systems capability (Xero experience preferred)
- Comfortable working in a founder-led, evolving environment
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused
