This is an opportunity for a passionate Product Design Lead to step into a pivotal role driving creative vision and operational excellence for a leading Australian homewares and furniture business. Acting as the 2IC to the Head of Creative, this position offers a unique blend of hands-on product design and team coordination across indoor case goods, upholstery, and outdoor categories. The successful candidate will champion innovation, quality, and process improvement while supporting the delivery of exceptional products from concept to completion.

What Your Days Will Look Like
- Developing and refining innovative product designs in response to briefs, with a focus on case goods, upholstery, and new categories as needed
- Producing detailed specifications and CAD drawings for supplier communication and quality control
- Partnering with the Head of Creative to translate strategy into actionable plans, coordinate workflows, and ensure project timelines are met
- Liaising with suppliers to ensure designs are viable, on trend, and meet high quality standards
- Mentoring and supporting the creative team, stepping in for the Head of Creative when required
- Leading QC reviews, managing swatches and catalogue libraries, and driving process improvements
- Supporting product photoshoots, marketing collateral, and trade fair planning
- Ensuring compliance with OH&S procedures and contributing to a safe, positive workplace
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Bachelor’s degree in industrial design, furniture making, or a related field
- Demonstrated management experience in a design-led environment (furniture or homewares preferred)
- 2–3 years’ experience in product development or design roles, especially in upholstery, textiles, or homewares
- Outstanding CAD and design software skills (Photoshop, Illustrator, 3D Program, Rhino 3D, SketchUp)
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, coordinate teams, and deliver to deadlines
- Excellent communication, analytical, and organisational skills with strong attention to detail
- Collaborative, solutions-focused mindset with the ability to inspire and support others
- Intermediate proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
